Just curious as to who still has their bucks. I still have mine. With the show we had in 84' I am amazed that they still have tread! ( He-He.) Anyone still have their sets? I have mine. We put them on a cord to hang around your neck. Any other things I might be missing?
Bucks, no, but I did get my whole section to sign my gloves, and those are still in a dresser drawer. Not sure what might have happened to my bucks, drill, etc. 8-)
I actually do have my bucks somewhere. From so many coats of polish, they split right through the last week of the season in '85. I had to literally electric-tape (white, of course) myself into my bucks so they would stay on. Back then, we did not leave our shoes on the field the night we "aged out". Nor did we break ranks while on the field (although occasionally a friend from the field or another corps would come over to give a hug:)
Yep...still have my white bucks....No Dinkles for us! And they made it from June 81 in Bayonne all the way to Georgia Tech in August of 84! And some other things...;-)
I marched in '86, but while in Morgantown, WV in '87 a mellophone player needed a pair of bucks to fit her. Fortunately, I had feet as small as she did. I never saw them again.
I wonder who that was .... I know it wouldn't have been me or Cathie Healy we probably have bigger feet than you. Although I do remember needing bucks, being from Canada I never did marching band and didn't have bucks at the beginning of the season. Doug used to give me a hard time, but it wasn't my fault that the ones I ordered through the corps didn't arrive on time. When they did they were too small and I had to deal with it and stuff my feet in them.
Not only do I have my Pre-DCI White Bucks, but I also have my smock (for those of you who actually "remember" that), my breast plate AND my original Garfield uniform arm patch. If Aunt Nell were alive, she'd probably kill me.
