I am a commercial photographer, Marched Garfield battery, late 60's - early 70's ( & what made my rookie year special is that I was there the first year females were brought into the ranks & the following year was the very first "Peace" sign"). If anyone knows the whereabouts of Vince Frega, Pete Calabrese, MULE, Art Bouvier, Lou Reda, Geroge Blachuciak, well, I'd love to hear from them.
After leaving Cadets, I went on to pursue a career in music. It didn't pan out the way I'd planned it and wound up as a photographer & have been one since. Spent most of the 70's-80's as a rock n roll photographer & touring the world with some of the finest musicians of the time. Odd, how Drum Corps never entered my mind again for all those years.
It was the mid/late 80's & accidentally saw Chamionships on TV. I was both shocked and surpised at what it had evolved into. A year or two later, I jumped back in with both feet round '89 and continued until the end of 2004 - I was a DCI and DCA staff photographer & did advertising work for many Corporate supporters, Zildjian, Pearl, Firth, Dynasty and a handful of others.
I will continue to post as many photos for you to enjoy, until I am told to stop or when I crash the server.
If interested, the link below will bring you to hundreds of my images & there's also a huge Corps network there as well (yeah, even older people like us).
Hey Dave! Sorry I didn't contact anyone when my wife & I left NJ. It was a job thing. We will be moving to AZ by Aug. 1 st. Again a job thing. If Tom is still out there I will be looking him up. I just heard about our brother Louie. I really wanted to find him while I lived in NJ. I will miss him & his humor. We had the best drumline for many years. Again... Louie will be missed greatly, Froggie .. Always one of your brothers...FHNSAB
Sounds like the reunion was great. Do you have Louie's info. I would likwe to give him a call or something. After drum corps Louie, Biily G Benny, and I all played softball together for years. Even to this day there is an annual card game at one of my friend's home where they still get together with the exception of Loiue. I haven't seen him in a very long time. I have no idea where Pete has gone , maybe you can find Greg Veerheck and ask him. otherwise I have no idea where to find him. I would love to contcat them and maybe get a 1970 drum line reunion together with just us in attendance.
ANYWAY KEEP IN TOUCH
