I had the pleasure of marching in drum corps for 13 years. I was a member of The Meadowlarks from Secaucus, NJ at the age of 7. In 1977 we merged with the Townsmen to form The Royal Brigade. During these years I was in the horn until the 79 season where I move over to the color guard and was in the rifle line. That season (1979) is one of my all time favorites...I can still, to this day, remember most of my rifle work. After the 80' season RB folded and I was left without a drum corps home. Several of us from RB decided to join The Cadets. I was a member of The Cadets for the 81', 82' and 84' seasons. These were my best drum corps years ever! I learned so much about life at The Cadets, from Doc Santo,George, Zingali, Sully & Peggy. So much of what I learned from them I use in my everyday life. It was a priviledge to march under their instruction!

Lizann, sorry, just got your last posting from 7/9. I'm not always good about checking the postings. My e-mail address @ work is colleen.rentschler@nike.com. Give me a shout via that address as I'm on that computer just about everyday. Your kids play LAX. What school do they paly for? I'd love to hook them up with some Nike stuff. Please let me know their shoe size as well as their clothing size. No joke, & don't feel like you're imposing. I'd rather them be in our product than someone else's. Talk to you soon.
Thank you for the kind words on the reunion. It is a pleasure to plan an event so close to my heart. You probably don't remember, but we met last year at the Giants Stadium reunion through Brian. How quickly a year passes!
I'll be looking for more details on the Cadets running club as it comes together. Just pass them along to me or Christen Juel.
Yeah, it was quite a shock to wake up Sunday morning and not strap on a drum and walk out to a football field. It was as close to time travel as I think we can get. For that day, we were all back in 1983 and it was really fun! I got a few pictures I think you'll like.
I'm training hard to better my pace time for the Hoboken run. See you there!
Hi Lizann - We all had such a good time :) But it was way too short. Now I remember why I had so much fun all those years ago - I had/have great friends :) Yes, every day I drive to work, I look at the grassy area that use to be our practice field. Kind of strange but most of the time just great
Ah, the joys of youth. What did we do with our youth? We marched drum corps! I'm up for running another one if you are. I might actually train for the next one.

Take care.
I've missed you, too. Saturday was such an awesome day. I didn't want it to end. I will definitely be at the Grand Prix on saturday....look for me.
