Started drum corps in the fall of '76 with the KW Lions Northstars from Kitchener where I marched the '77 season (placed 27th at prelims) and '78 season (placed 32nd).
I took a DC hiatus until the summer of '81 when I filled in with Dutch Boy during the summer tour and then marched the following season when Dutch Boy won the Class A title in Montreal.
Took another break from marching until the fall of '83 when I joined Steve Meikle, Trevor Gingerich and Shawn Seeds on a road trip to a Garfield Camp (thanks guys - good decision given I had no intention on playing DC again). Had a good time and marched in the baritone line as a rook out during the '84 season. Much thanks to Matt Tracey for keeping me sane that tour.
Instructed various horn lines between '81 and '89 (Durham Girls, Ventures St. Andrews, Scout House, Dutch Boy, '86 Cadets briefly). Following my DC experience, and upon completion of a business degree at Wilfrid Laurier University, I got on with a career in banking which I continue with today.
I still reside in Kitchener together with my wife, Gabrielle, and 4 beautiful daughters.
For those of you who don't know, Jim is organizing our Canadian Alumni to provide the funds to sponsor the Cadets' pizza party following the Hawthorne Memorial Day Parade. Thanks Cadet!
Hello Jim. My company (JH DESIGNS) print and retail, my designs. I am selling shirts to koozies and plush bears with my copyrighten designs.
I have the top drum corps printed on koozies and also the Big Ten, as well as other college designs printed on koozies. My designs are at Gettysburg and other Civil war sites. You can check out some of my designs at BuckeyeLegends.com and E-Gettysburg.com. My drum corps designs will be on my website hopefully @ the beginning of 2009.
Still in the works. I will have the new Garfield design soon and I hope the corps will sell this item. Put in a good word. OK? Thanks. I will talk to you soon. John Hill
Do you remember a Player in 84' that wore a Blue Devils shirt, and the guys in the horn line tore it off his back? I will never forget that. It was a nice design on the shirt. I think the guy was really pissed, because he had just bought the shirt. I can not remember his name.
hey there! I am not sure about erik rosen but I do know that Defenders have an active alumnin corps. Perhaps he is participating with that. Defenders alumni have a website. I'll see if I can locate it and send a link to you.
