Kyle: understand! I have no suggested solutions to offer, other than that things have a way of righting themselves over time. I for one very much miss all the great Canadian corps, and remember vividly corps traveling to DCI from the western-most regions of Canada, in addition to the many corps from Ontario and Quebec. It filled me with joy last month when the "Cadets with a Canadian Connection" reached out to the 2009 Cadets with that pizza party you hosted. I suspect that many, if not all, currently active corps have at least some Canadian members, though I couldn't verify that...and I know that token representation is not what you're talking about. I was fortunate enough to have had the opportunity, through the Cadets, to personally know many members of many of the great Canadian corps, and I miss them and the corps they marched in very much. My daydreams are full of Scout House, The Optimists, Del La Salle , The Conquerer, Dutch Boy, and so many others. I think the modern-era Cadets have a very deep and meaningful Canadian relationship, which hopefully may lead someday to a more widespread restoration of drum corps activity under the flag of the Maple Leaf. I just wanted you to know that there are dinosaurs like me down here who do remember, who do care, and who share your pain. FHNSAB...
Why is the Canadian Flag on the ground in your photo? Nothing disrespectful I hope. Hello from a fellow alumnus who has always considered Canada my second home.
