About Me:

I am the daughter of Les Parks who instructed the Garfield Cadets a long time ago. He also instructed the Hawthorne Caballeros and brought them to National Champs 7 years from 1958-1964. I am looking to share my dad's music with the people who loved it.

At 7:26pm on November 10, 2008, Jack Day said…: Hi Nancy...I played snare with Garfield from 64-67. I think your dad had to break my arms and fingers to get me to play correctly. He had me play inside a coat hanger, a ruler taped to my left arm, my pinky taped. It worked...lol. The pictures and solos brought back fond memories of the man. I learned so much from him. He was tough and demanding. He knew what he was doing. I went on to teach many drum lines, for over 30 years. I am currently the drum instructor for the Alumni corps. I hope to meet you one day.
